Housing A Thousand is not accepting donations at this time. This is because we want your donations to be tax-deductible, which is pending our 501(c)(3) status.

We submitted our request for 501(c)(3) designation to the IRS on 9OCT2024. The average time to decision is 90 days, so we expect an IRS determination letter by 7JAN2025, which will make your donations tax-exempt!

So I can't donate yet... What will you need when you start accepting donations?

Roughly 40 acres and $40 million on the high end in capital costs to construct shelters for 1,000 individuals, assuming the following:

• 27 shelters per acre
• No paid full-time staff
• All 1,000 units are oilfield housing
• The government doesn't shut us down due to inflexible zoning, building code, stormwater quality, and fire code laws that only allow for expensive, conventional building methods
